Dongseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group Holds Regular Board Meeting with 10 ESG University Alliance Members

The Stage 3 Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Leading University Fostering Project Group at Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) announced on the 3rd that it held the “ESG University Alliance Regular Board Meeting” over two days on the 30th and 31st at Citadines Connect Hotel Hari Busan and Dongseo University’s Jurye Campus.

The ESG University Alliance is a nationwide LINC 3.0 project group council newly established in September 2022 by the Regional Community Contribution Research Association to promote industry-academia-research cooperation related to ESG. Since 2017, it has conducted 10 Regional Community Contribution and ESG Capstone Design Fairs, 8 Ideathons for solving regional issues, and 40 seminars and special lectures, carrying out various community contribution and ESG activities.

The ESG University Alliance Board consists of 10 universities nationwide participating in the LINC 3.0 project. The board includes: ▲Dongseo University and Kyungnam University in the Southeast region ▲Dongguk University and Korea University in the Seoul metropolitan area ▲Daejeon University and Hanseo University in the Chungcheong region ▲Jeju National University and Honam University in the Honam-Jeju region ▲Keimyung University and Hallym University in the Daegyeong-Gangwon region.

During this board meeting, participants discussed the schedule and venues for the 2024 joint programs, including the ESG Capstone Design Fair, ESG Ideathon, seminars, and performance sharing sessions.

They also gathered opinions on the regional contribution section of Dongseo University’s Glocal University main designation plan currently in preparation, and discussed ways to jointly respond to changes resulting from the introduction of the RISE system, which will be implemented from next year.

Hwang Kihyun, Head of the Dongseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group and Director of the Shared Cooperation Center, said, “We will actively strive to sincerely and continuously maintain the ESG University Alliance, a nationwide university council that has continued for eight years, even within the RISE project.”
