Up to 2 Base Locations Simultaneous Occupancy
New Introduction of 'KSC Prime'
The Small and Medium Business Corporation announced on the 3rd that it is recruiting participating companies for the ‘2024 K-Startup Center (KSC) Hub-type’ program to support startups' overseas expansion.
The K-Startup Center (KSC) is a project that supports promising startups wishing to enter overseas markets by promoting local commercialization and investment attraction. There are a total of five hubs located in the United States (Seattle), France (Paris), Singapore, Vietnam (Hanoi), and Japan (Tokyo). Over the past year, through the KSC project, the Small and Medium Business Corporation supported the global expansion of a total of 185 startups, achieving KRW 166.4 billion in investment attraction, KRW 66.7 billion in overseas sales, and the creation of 970 jobs.
The support targets are startups within seven years of establishment that have either domestic or overseas investment attraction records or local sales performance within the last three years. Final selection will be made through document screening and local hub evaluation. Selected companies will receive customized support according to their overseas expansion strategies, ranging from local office space to commercialization support and investment attraction.
In particular, this year, the Small and Medium Business Corporation newly introduced the ‘KSC Prime’ system. This system gives preferential treatment to startups by allowing them to simultaneously reside in up to two KSC hubs, strengthening linked support between overseas hubs.
Companies wishing to enter the KSC can apply online through the Small and Medium Business Corporation’s website. Kim Il-ho, Director of Global Growth at the Small and Medium Business Corporation, said, “We will support the successful global market entry of excellent startups through the KSC project,” and added, “We will continue to actively support the globalization of promising startups by linking various policy tools possessed by the Small and Medium Business Corporation.”
