‘Seocho Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate’ Issued for 500 Million Won... 15% Discount
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will issue 25 billion KRW worth of 'Seocho Love Gift Certificates' usable within the district at a 5% discount starting from 9 a.m. on the 3rd.
The Seocho Love Gift Certificates can be purchased at a 5% discount off the face value, up to a maximum of 500,000 KRW per person. They can be bought and used through the newly launched 'Seoul Pay+' app in April, and users can also check participating local merchants through the 'Find Merchant' feature within the app.
The usage period is five years from the purchase date. Unused gift certificates can be fully refunded, and if more than 60% of the face value has been used, the remaining balance after deducting the discount support fund will be refunded.
From this year, purchases and usage will be made through the newly launched Seoul Pay+ app. The previously used apps 'Shinhan SOL Bank', 'T-money Pay', 'Money Tree', and 'Shinhan SOL Pay' will no longer be available, so caution is required. For smooth purchasing, it is recommended to download and install the 'Seoul Pay+' app in advance and register accounts or cards for bank transfer or card payment beforehand.
The Seocho Love Gift Certificates represent the largest scale among autonomous districts issuing certificates this month. The district issued 4 billion KRW worth of gift certificates during the last Lunar New Year, which sold out within two minutes of issuance, reflecting strong consumer response, leading to this scale expansion.
Along with this, the district will also issue 500 million KRW worth of Seocho Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates starting at 10 a.m. on the same day. The Seocho Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates are exclusive to the delivery app 'Ttaenggyeoyo', which has low brokerage fees for small business owners. The district has increased the purchase discount rate to 15% to enhance consumer benefits and promote the public delivery app. The district issues these certificates monthly, and through the Seoul Pay+ app, individuals can purchase up to 200,000 KRW to use for food delivery or takeout orders at Ttaenggyeoyo affiliated stores.
Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, “In a situation where consumption is shrinking due to high prices, I hope that the discounted local gift certificates will help reduce residents' grocery expenses and lead to increased sales for small business owners.”
