Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) is accelerating efforts to become a ‘First-Class Integrity City Gangseo’ trusted by both residents and employees.
On the 31st at 4 p.m., the district office held the ‘Integrity Leader Launch Ceremony and Communication Meeting’ at the district office.
At the event, about 60 integrity leaders from each department, who represent employees' voices and serve as communication channels among staff, attended along with Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon.
At the event, Mayor Jin shared cases he felt and experienced during his 33 years as a police officer, generously conveying the basic principles of public service and the attitude of an honest public official to the employees.
Mayor Jin said, “Although the meaning of integrity is defined diversely according to changes in the times, such as fair work performance and proactive administration, a clean public service free from corruption must be the starting point of integrity.”
He continued, “Corruption begins with trivial matters and grows uncontrollably, like standing on a slippery slope,” and urged, “One must always reflect on oneself and approach every task with an honest mindset.”
Mayor Jin explained Jeong Yak-yong’s Four Fears (Sawoiron) as principles that public officials should observe, emphasizing the attitude of thinking from the residents’ perspective and fostering an organizational culture of respect and communication among employees.
Following the meeting between the mayor and integrity leaders, an integrity education session was held. Attorney and integrity specialist instructor Ahn Young-jin gave a lecture on the Prohibition of Solicitation Act and the Code of Conduct for Public Officials.
