Ministry of Science and ICT: "Repeated Suspected North Korean Radio Interference... No Damage Reported"

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 29th that radio interference signals, presumed to be from Gangryeong and Ongjin in North Korea, have been repeatedly entering and then stopping at the Ministry's radio monitoring systems in Yeonpyeong, Incheon, Ganghwa, and Paju.

According to the Ministry of Science and ICT on the 31st, the current number of reported GPS radio interference cases totals 932, including 201 cases involving aircraft and 731 cases involving ships. However, there have been no incidents resulting in actual damage.

The Ministry of Science and ICT is maintaining the GPS radio interference alert at the "Caution" level while operating emergency preparedness systems such as using aircraft ground navigation facilities and inertial navigation equipment, and utilizing ship radar, navigational aids, and terrain features.
