20 Million Stipetto Ticketing Error Recall Case... Former and Current Donghaeng Lottery CEOs Referred to Prosecution

On the 31st, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that it had sent Kim Se-jung, former co-CEO of Donghaeng Lottery, and Cho Hyung-seop, co-CEO of Donghaeng Lottery, to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on charges of violating the Lottery and Lottery Fund Act (Lottery Act).

They are accused of using lottery information to retrieve 200,000 lottery tickets suspected to be erroneous after the visual winning results and the sales system winning results did not match for six tickets of the 58th Spitto1000 lottery in September 2021.

By grasping all winning lottery information and distribution information for the relevant draw, it is possible to know at which branch the winning tickets were sold. Article 5-2 of the Lottery Act stipulates that information about lotteries obtained in the course of duty must not be provided or disclosed for improper purposes.
