250 Students, Parents, and Staff Attend Emotional Play 'Gajok Harmony'

The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education attracted attention by conducting character education through watching a theatrical performance.


On the 31st, the Gwangju Office of Education watched the emotional play "Gajok Harmony" with about 250 participants including students, parents, and staff the day before.

This performance viewing was promoted to strengthen the emotional connection among family members and to foster both character and emotional growth. After watching the performance, participants listened attentively to an emotional lecture and had time to reflect once again on the meaning of family.


The emotional play was composed of a story about resolving conflicts and harmonizing through the process of family members understanding and empathizing with each other's emotions and roles.


The subsequent emotional lecture utilized the storytelling Emotional Touch technique to awaken the importance of communication, understanding, empathy, and expression among family members, providing insights into conflict resolution and relationship improvement within families.


This character education through the emotional play is scheduled to visit more educational families with a second performance in the second half of the year.


So Yumi, a teacher at Gwangju Gwangcheon Elementary School, said, "It was an opportunity to think about the meaning of family in increasingly individualized and personalized homes and society," adding, "It was a beneficial character education time for students, parents, and teachers alike."


Lee Jeongseon, the Superintendent of Education, stated, "Family is the most precious treasure in our lives. I hope this emotional performance will make the relationships among family members more meaningful," and added, "We will do our best to support students, parents, and staff so that they can cultivate proper character in healthy homes and schools."
