"Smoking is a disease, treatment is quitting smoking"
Jindo-gun Public Health Center in Jeollanam-do is actively participating in the anti-smoking campaign in the region to mark "World No Tobacco Day (May 31)."
According to the county, this event was held under the theme "Smoking is a disease. The cure is quitting smoking," in cooperation with various local organizations.
On the street stretching from the entrance of the Jindo-gun Office to the Jindo-eup Office intersection, Jindo-gun office employees and residents gathered to hold a street march emphasizing the importance of quitting smoking.

During the subsequent No Smoking Week (May 13 to May 31), various events continued. These included participation in communication networks through "Now is the time to quit smoking," smoking prevention performances centered around schools, solving anti-smoking promotional quizzes, and walking exercises.
In particular, the plogging activity of collecting discarded cigarette butts was highlighted as an even more important campaign for the surrounding environment.
A public health center official stated, "Citizens who need to quit smoking can visit the health center's smoking cessation counseling room to receive various services, including smoking tests," and added, "We will continue to carry out various promotional activities to create a clean Jindo-gun."
They also added, "We will continue to take the lead in creating a healthy and clean community through ongoing anti-smoking campaigns and the establishment of cooperative systems."
Through this event, Jindo-gun Public Health Center is striving to foster a culture of smoking prevention in the local community and to raise awareness about quitting smoking.
