Korean Company’s Gim Exports Surpass 1 Trillion Won Last Year
Han Sung Enterprise has reached a 52-week high. The overseas Gim (seaweed) craze is continuously highlighted, seemingly giving the stock price momentum.
As of 10:23 AM on the 31st, Han Sung Enterprise's stock is trading at 8,150 KRW, up 19.15% (1,310 KRW) from the previous day. This surpasses the 52-week high of 7,700 KRW recorded on the 27th. Han Sung Enterprise's stock price has risen more than 50% since the beginning of this month.
Han Sung Enterprise is a company engaged in deep-sea fishing and seafood processing and manufacturing. It is famous for its crab-flavored imitation crab meat product, "Kreami." Recently, its Gim products such as "Gwangcheon Gim" have also attracted attention due to the soaring popularity of Gim overseas.
According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, last year's Gim export value reached a record high in the 1 trillion KRW range, accounting for about 70% of the global market share. Jang Ji-hye, a researcher at DS Investment & Securities, stated, "The overseas performance of major food and beverage companies is expected to continue growing," adding, "As global consumers' interest increases, Korean product lines are expanding across distribution channels in various countries."
