Meeting of the Safety Council for Fishing Vessel Base Ports and Harbors Held
Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kwon Oh-seong) announced on the 31st that it held a meeting with related organizations at Jindo National Maritime Safety Center on the 30th to promote a safe culture for fishing vessels.
The "Base Ports and Harbors" are major ports and harbors selected to be used as bases for fostering a safe fishing culture, in addition to the top 10 ports and harbors nationwide with the highest demand for fishing vessel security.

Mokpo Maritime Police selected Jindo Seomang Port, which has the highest security demand considering the number of departures, number of passengers, and registered fishing vessels, as a base port and harbor, and held a meeting with seven organizations and associations including Jindo County and the Korea Maritime Rescue Association to establish a safety management plan.
This meeting covered the status and analysis of fishing vessel accidents over the past three years, sharing major schedules for preventing fishing vessel accidents (Fishing Vessel Safety Day on September 12), and sharing information and collaboration matters related to each organization's duties.
Chief Kwon Oh-seong said, "We will promote mid- to long-term safety management policies to prevent maritime accidents and continue to pay attention to fostering a safe fishing vessel culture."
