Street Promotion Activities at Ulsan Grand Park on May 31
Ulsan City will launch a joint campaign to promote smoking cessation at 2 p.m. on the 31st, near the South Gate of Ulsan Grand Park, in commemoration of the 37th World No Tobacco Day.
The World Health Organization (WHO) designated May 31 as World No Tobacco Day to emphasize the dangers of smoking and the importance of quitting.
In recognition of this day, Ulsan City has been conducting intensive promotional activities for smoking cessation through various media outlets from May 1 to June 15.
Additionally, about 30 representatives from district health centers, Ulsan Smoking Cessation Support Center, Ulsan Regional Cancer Center, Regional Lung Cancer Screening Center, and Cancer Survivor Integrated Support Center will participate in the campaign, targeting citizens to encourage smoking cessation.
Participants in the event will promote the theme "Protect Our Future Generations from the Tobacco Industry," chanting anti-smoking slogans and distributing promotional materials to the public as part of their street campaign for smoking cessation.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "Through this promotional campaign, we hope citizens will reflect on the significance of No Tobacco Day, foster social support for non-smoking, and help establish a healthy culture of consideration and smoking cessation."
