Russian Man Visiting Thailand Dies After Assaulting Father Following Minor Sexual Assault Allegation

At a party in Thailand, a British man fatally punched a Russian man who sexually harassed his teenage daughter. On the 28th (local time), the British tabloid The Sun reported that British man A (34) punched Russian man B (36) in the face after B whispered to A's daughter that he wanted to have sex with her, causing B to fall and hit his head on the ground.

At the time, A's family was attending a pool villa party in Pattaya, Thailand. It was reported that an intoxicated B approached A's daughter and expressed his desire to have sex with her. A's wife, who had left the party earlier, claimed she received a text message from her husband saying he wanted to go home. While A's wife was returning to the pool villa, A was reportedly wandering the streets.

A's wife stated, "While he was drinking, B started sexually harassing our daughter even though my husband’s wife was at the party." A and B had met for the first time that day and were reportedly drinking together until the commotion broke out.

Police and medical personnel responded to a report at 3:16 a.m. on the 27th (local time). According to the police, at the scene, B was found unconscious on the floor, bleeding from his head. He was rushed to Pattaya Bangkok Hospital nearby but ultimately died. It was confirmed that four foreign men and two women were also present at the party.

A was arrested at a house not far from the pool villa and is currently detained at the police station. He told the police, "I didn’t know my punch would kill the man. I regret my actions." Local police stated, "An arrest warrant has been issued for A, who assaulted another person resulting in death." The British Foreign Office said, "We are in contact with Thai authorities following A’s arrest."

The day before, it was reported that a British man fell into a coma after being kicked in the head by a security guard at a bar in Pattaya, and British authorities are said to be on high alert.
