According to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul on the 30th, Kim will be sent to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in custody at 8 a.m. on the 31st on charges of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (dangerous driving causing injury and hit-and-run causing injury), the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving and failure to take measures after an accident), and aiding a criminal.
Lee Kwang-deuk, CEO of Saenggak Entertainment, will be sent to prosecution in custody on charges of aiding a criminal, and former head Jeon will be sent in custody on charges of aiding a criminal, evidence destruction, and aiding drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act. Kim’s manager Jang will be sent without detention on charges of drunk driving and aiding a criminal under the Road Traffic Act.
Earlier, Kim caused an accident around 11:40 p.m. on the 9th on a road in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, colliding with a taxi on the opposite lane and fled the scene, then appeared at the police station 17 hours later. To apply the drunk driving charge under the Road Traffic Act, the investigative agency must prove that the driver’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.03% or higher at the time, but the investigation at the time did not yield significant results, so Kim was detained without the drunk driving charge applied.
