Song Young-gil, the 60-year-old leader of the Sonamu Party, who has been on trial while detained on charges related to the Democratic Party's money envelope distribution scandal, has been granted bail. Meanwhile, Jung Yoo-ra, the daughter of Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil), expressed her anger, saying, "Everyone is out except for my mother."
On the 30th, Jung posted on her Facebook, "Lee Jae-myung hasn't even been arrested, Jung Kyung-shim was granted parole, the president's mother-in-law was also paroled, Song Young-gil got bail, and Park Young-soo got bail," adding, "Seriously, everyone is out except for my mother. I'm really annoyed now."
She then referred to a current prosecutor involved in allegations of backdoor deals related to testimonies during the special prosecution of the state affairs manipulation case, including Choi's niece Jang Si-ho. She expressed dissatisfaction, saying, "With Jang Si-ho's lies coming out one after another and even Park Young-soo's bribery charges revealed, former President Park Geun-hye is meeting people while my mother is still imprisoned."
She continued, "Is it left-wing innocent and right-wing guilty?" and lamented, "I don't want to be anti-government or anti-prosecution, but at this point, they are pushing me to do so, making me feel like I'm clueless."
Jung also said, "Talking about approval ratings is ridiculous now," questioning, "Releasing Park Young-soo and Song Young-gil and then talking about approval ratings?isn't that honestly a joke?" She added, "If my sick mother continues to be neglected like this, please understand that I am not someone who will cheer for this government until the end."
Earlier, Jung had repeatedly requested the Yoon Seok-youl administration to grant parole or pardon for her mother, Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil). On the 25th, she appealed, "Can't my mother be forgiven now?" in response to the appointment of Jung Ho-sung, a former Blue House secretary known as one of the 'Three Key Aides' during the Park Geun-hye administration, as a secretary to President Yoon Seok-youl.
Meanwhile, on the same day, the 21st Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Heo Kyung-moo) accepted the bail request of Song Young-gil, the 60-year-old leader of the Sonamu Party. Song, identified as a key figure in the 2021 'Democratic Party Convention Money Envelope Scandal,' had been on trial while detained and was released after 163 days in custody following this decision.
