Taiwan Computer Parts Company Gigabyte
Jensen Huang, Pat Gelsinger, and Lisa Su Scheduled to Visit
The Taipei International Computer Exhibition (COMPUTEX) in Taiwan will open on the 4th. At this exhibition, Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, Pat Gelsinger, CEO of Intel, and Lisa Su, CEO of AMD?known as the "three semiconductor giants"?are scheduled to visit the Taiwanese computer parts company Gigabyte. Founded in 1986, Gigabyte is a Taiwanese computer parts manufacturer famous as one of the world's top three motherboard companies alongside ASUS and MSI.
Gigabyte is the only company in Taiwan that all three CEOs will visit, attracting significant attention. Gigabyte’s chairman, Je Fei-cheng, will personally welcome the three CEOs and announce collaborative projects related to the latest popular products such as AI servers, motherboards, and AI PCs.
Even before COMPUTEX 2024 begins, news has spread that Gigabyte is the only Taiwanese company to be visited by all three semiconductor giants. According to sources, CEO Gelsinger will be the first to visit the Gigabyte booth on the morning of the exhibition’s opening day, the 4th; CEO Su will visit in the afternoon of the same day; and CEO Huang will visit on the following day, the 5th. At this exhibition, the Gigabyte booth occupies the largest area on the first floor of the Nangang Exhibition Hall and has an additional booth on the fourth floor that is twice the size of other booths. This scale is larger than that of many major Taiwanese corporations’ booths.
Gigabyte employees are doing their best to prepare for this exhibition, leasing a large booth and accelerating preparations to set up the interior. The semiconductor and parts industry assesses that Gigabyte possesses strong technological capabilities in three fields: laptops, motherboards, and AI servers, and maintains close cooperative relationships with NVIDIA, Intel, and AMD. The fact that all three CEOs are visiting Gigabyte simultaneously demonstrates the semiconductor industry's high interest in Gigabyte and is evaluated as a sign of expected deeper cooperation in the future.
Given that Gigabyte is receiving support from the three giants?CEO Huang, CEO Gelsinger, and CEO Su?there is also interest in whether other Taiwanese companies like Acer and ASUS will receive similar treatment in the future. However, at this exhibition, Acer and ASUS have shown relatively quiet responses. Acer stated that it will attend events of important cooperative partners, and ASUS executives said they plan to attend keynote speeches by Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm this year.
Other manufacturers expected to be visited by the three semiconductor giants this year include Foxconn and Quanta. CEO Huang will hold a meeting with Foxconn chairman Liu Yangwei on the 3rd to discuss cooperation and development details between the two companies and is scheduled to appear at the Foxconn booth on the 6th. At this event, Chairman Liu will personally welcome CEO Huang.
Meanwhile, COMPUTEX 2024, held from the 4th to the 7th of this month, is organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA). It is expected to feature over 1,500 companies from 26 countries. In addition to the three semiconductor giants, Cristiano Amon, CEO of Qualcomm, will also attend the exhibition.
