Targeting 10 Organizations Including Hwaseong Urban Corporation
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it will conduct an organizational diagnosis of its affiliated public institutions ahead of the launch of its special city status next year.
The organizational diagnosis will be conducted over seven months from next month through December, targeting 10 affiliated public institutions including Hwaseong Urban Corporation. The city aims to analyze management status, establish a three-year management innovation plan (2025?2027), and develop integrated guidelines through this diagnosis.
In particular, the city plans to review the overall management of public institutions, including their projects, organization, personnel, finances, and wage status, and devise ways to operate them efficiently to drive organizational innovation.
A Hwaseong City official said, "We are conducting a comprehensive organizational diagnosis based on innovation with the intention that Hwaseong’s public institutions must also change," adding, "Through management improvements, we will transform these institutions into ones that provide better public services to citizens."
Meanwhile, Hwaseong City surpassed the special city requirement of a population of 1 million at the end of last year, and if it maintains this population until the end of this year, it will be promoted to special city status in January next year. Currently, there are four special cities nationwide: Suwon, Yongin, and Goyang in Gyeonggi Province, and Changwon in Gyeongnam Province.
