Yeongdeok County Holds First Half-Year Training for Agricultural Employers and Foreign Seasonal Workers

Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province held a training session for agricultural employers and foreign seasonal workers at the Agricultural Technology Center auditorium on the 29th.

Yeongdeok County Holds First Half-Year Training for Agricultural Employers and Foreign Seasonal Workers Agricultural households employed in the first half of the year and foreign seasonal workers training in Yeongdeok County.

Currently, 49 foreign seasonal workers from three countries?Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand?have entered the country and have been assigned to 18 farms, providing significant help to local farms experiencing labor shortages.


This training covered the obligations that employing farms must adhere to, content on protecting workers' human rights, and essential information for foreign seasonal workers such as compliance requirements and prevention of unauthorized departures, with interpreters for Vietnamese and Filipino invited to assist.


The county plans to continuously monitor on-site to ensure that working conditions are being observed.


The head of the Eco-friendly Agriculture Team stated, "I sincerely thank the employing farms and workers for attending the training despite their busy schedules," and added, "We will continue to provide communication, management, and administrative support so that the increasing demand for seasonal workers can be met smoothly and the workers can work in a safe environment."


After the training, the 49 foreign seasonal workers visited the Pohang Immigration Office to complete their foreigner registration.
