Kim Seonghwan, President of Hanwha Investment, Joins 'ByeBye Plastic Challenge'

On the 30th, President Kim Seong-hwan took on the challenge after being nominated by Choi Byung-oh, Chairman of Fashion Group Hyungji and Chairman of the Korea Federation of Textile Industries.

The Bye Bye Plastic Challenge, launched in August last year under the Ministry of Environment, is a participatory relay campaign aimed at reducing unnecessary plastic use in daily life and encouraging recycling and responsible consumption. It conveys a commitment to practicing eco-friendliness with the meaning of 'saying goodbye to plastic' and proceeds by nominating the next participant.

President Kim said, "Developing habits to reduce plastic use in daily life, such as cutting down on disposable products and using reusable containers, is something we can start today for the sake of the Earth's tomorrow." He added, "We will continue to plan and actively participate in social contribution activities that benefit the environment and local communities."

President Kim nominated Yoon Ho-young, CEO of KakaoBank, and Myung Noh-hyun, Vice Chairman of LS, as the next participants.

Korea Investment & Securities, selected by the Ministry of Environment in 2021 as a creator of the carbon emissions trading market, is promoting various projects related to carbon emission rights. Additionally, the company is leading efforts to create social value through issuing ESG corporate bonds and investing in overseas eco-friendly industries.
