Jungjingong, Ministry of Economy and Finance Fund Operation Evaluation Receives Highest Grade for 5 Consecutive Years

Recognition of Excellence in Asset Management

The Small and Medium Business Corporation announced on the 30th that it has been recognized for excellence in the operation and management of the Small and Medium Business Startup and Promotion Fund (hereinafter referred to as the SMB Fund) in the ‘2023 Fiscal Year Fund Operation Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, earning the ‘Outstanding’ grade for five consecutive years.

The fund operation evaluation is conducted by an evaluation team composed of private experts, assessing the performance of surplus fund management, operational systems, and policy appropriateness. The evaluation is divided into six grades: Outstanding, Excellent, Good, Average, Poor, and Very Poor.

Small and Medium Business Corporation

Among the 23 funds subject to this evaluation, two funds including the SMB Fund received the highest grade of ‘Outstanding.’ The Small and Medium Business Corporation is the only institution to have received the ‘Outstanding’ grade for five consecutive years.

The Corporation received high evaluation scores across all aspects of fund operation by strengthening potential risk management based on the expertise of a dedicated asset management organization and an efficient decision-making system, as well as demonstrating excellent operational returns. It was also recognized for actively designing a unique ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investment model for the fund and striving to create an ESG ecosystem.
