Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 30th that it will partially support the procedure costs for couples undergoing assisted reproductive technology using frozen eggs preserved for fertility preservation purposes.
The support targets couples attempting pregnancy and childbirth using frozen eggs, providing up to 1 million KRW per procedure, with a maximum of two procedures per couple.
The scope of support varies depending on whether infertility has been diagnosed. For couples undergoing assisted reproductive technology using frozen eggs without an infertility diagnosis, the entire process of frozen egg thawing and fresh embryo in vitro fertilization procedures is supported.
For those diagnosed with infertility, only the thawing cost of frozen eggs is supported, while other procedure costs are covered through the infertility couple procedure cost support program.
Eligible couples can apply for post-support by visiting the public health center after completing the assisted reproductive procedures. However, common-law couples or those diagnosed with infertility must apply for the infertility couple procedure cost support in advance.
For more details, contact the Maternal and Child Health Office at Jeongeup City Public Health Center.
A public health center official said, “We hope that the support for costs of assisted reproductive technology using frozen eggs will alleviate the financial burden for couples wishing to have children,” adding, “We will continue to promote projects for healthy pregnancy and childbirth.”
