'Pet Specialty Section' Adds 'Pet Insurance and Health Checkup Kits'

SK M&S's corporate welfare platform 'Benefia' launched a 'Pet Specialty Section' last April to cater to the convenience of employees who own pets, and has now introduced 'Pet Insurance' and 'Pet Health Checkup Kit' services.

Pets, like humans, can be exposed to various diseases such as oral diseases, patellar luxation, dermatitis, and various cancers, and the burden of veterinary bills is often higher than that for humans.

Pet insurance helps reduce the financial burden of medical expenses caused by unexpected accidents or illnesses in pets. The pet insurance offered by Benefia covers medical expenses up to the age of 20 and reimburses actual costs for hospital visits, surgeries, and hospitalizations, including the most concerning diseases such as patellar and hip luxation and oral diseases.

Benefia’s client company employees can browse products from major insurance companies and carefully compare factors such as co-pay rates, coverage amounts, and compensation limits to conveniently select the optimal product. There is also an ongoing event offering 15,000 Naver Pay points upon insurance subscription.

While pet insurance covers hospital expenses, the 'Pet Health Checkup Kit' helps assess pets' health in advance through pathogen genetic testing, aiding in early detection and prevention of diseases. To this end, Benefia partnered with pet tech and genetic analysis research company Genebio Co., Ltd. to launch the pet health examination app service 'Peter’s Lab.'

'Peter’s Lab' uses a PCR oral test kit that allows pet owners to collect saliva samples from their pets at home and leave them outside for pickup. After collection, precise testing is conducted, and a report is sent via the app. The report includes pathogen detection levels, health status and systemic disease risk assessed by medical AI analysis, explanations of over 40 related diseases, pet food recommendations based on results, and comparative analysis reports with previous test results, enabling thorough care of pets’ health.

To commemorate the launch of the pet health checkup kit, Benefia is preparing a trial group event. Until the 9th of next month, they are recruiting 25 participants each for free trial groups for dogs and cats.

The 'Pet Fair,' which sells over 700 products from more than 50 pet-related brands, is also noteworthy. It offers special discounted products with up to 80% off and a variety of lowest-price guaranteed items such as cat towers.
