Samsung Electronics has announced that it will launch the AI laptop PC ‘Galaxy Book4 Edge,’ developed in collaboration with Microsoft (MS), next month. The price is in the 2 million KRW range. Leading the laptop market with the highest market share, Samsung Electronics expressed its ambition to capture more than 60% of the AI laptop PC market as well.

On the 30th, Samsung Electronics held a media briefing at Cave House in Yongsan, Seoul, and announced that the AI laptop ‘Galaxy Book4 Edge’ will be released on the 18th of next month. The Galaxy Book4 Edge is priced at 2.15 million KRW for the 35.6 cm (14-inch) model, and 2.35 million KRW and 2.65 million KRW for the two 40.6 cm (16-inch) models. Junho Park, Executive Director and Head of Galaxy Eco Product Planning Team at Samsung Electronics MX Division, stated, "We will continuously innovate AI usability so that two out of three AI laptops sold in the domestic market this year will be Galaxy Books," adding, "We will lead the domestic AI PC market." According to industry sources, Samsung Electronics holds a 49.5% share of the entire domestic laptop market, ranking first.
The Galaxy Book4 Edge is equipped with Qualcomm’s AI-dedicated processor, the ‘Snapdragon X Elite.’ It supports AI processing with a neural processing unit (NPU) that provides a processing speed of up to 45 TOPS (45 trillion operations per second). A notable feature is the ‘Copilot+ PC,’ developed in collaboration with MS, which allows users to experience both cloud and on-device AI functions.
Jisung Park, Vice President of Marketing at Qualcomm CDMA Technology Korea, said, "The Snapdragon X Elite is a processor optimized for AI PCs," adding, "It delivers innovative AI performance, including battery life that lasts for several days." He also said, "It will provide a differentiated AI experience as the first Copilot+ PC in Korea."
Samsung Electronics demonstrated the AI functions of the Galaxy Book4 Edge on the same day. By connecting a Galaxy smartphone via ‘Link to Windows,’ AI functions from the smartphone were also utilized on the PC. For example, the ‘Circle to Search’ feature allows users to draw a circle on the smartphone screen to search, and the search results mirrored on the Galaxy Book4 Edge screen can be directly pasted into PC documents. When meeting notes recorded on the smartphone are connected to the PC, users can use the smartphone’s summarization and translation functions on the PC screen and then paste the results into emails, enabling seamless device interconnectivity. The ‘Recall’ feature, which allows users to search in natural language for tasks performed at specific past times, was also introduced. It enabled searching not only recent documents and emails but also viewed video content, text messages, and voice recordings.

MS’s AI features were also showcased. The ‘Co-Creator’ in ‘Paint’ transformed simple sketches into artworks or generated new images based on commands. The ‘Effects’ in ‘Windows Studio’ supported camera filters and background effects powered by on-device AI, as well as voice focus, portrait mode, background blur, and focus adjustment functions.
