Documents with the Highest Issuance Rate Including Resident Registration Certificates... Enhancing Administrative Convenience for District Residents

Dongjak-gu, All Fees for 8 Popular Types of Unmanned Civil Service Issuance Machines Fully Waived

Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) will waive all fees for eight types of civil service documents that are in high demand at unmanned civil service kiosks within the district to enhance convenience for residents and promote non-face-to-face civil service.

The district announced that it promulgated and implemented today (the 30th) the revised "Seoul Special City Dongjak-gu Fee Collection Ordinance" containing the related provisions.

The eight types of documents exempted from fees this time include ▲two types of resident registration certificates and extracts ▲four types of family relation certificates ▲two types of family registers, which accounted for 75% of all documents issued at unmanned civil service kiosks last year, making them the most frequently used by residents.

Previously, residents had to pay a fee of 200 to 500 KRW per issuance when obtaining these documents from unmanned kiosks due to difficulties in accessing nearby offices or using the internet, but now they can receive them free of charge.

Currently, the district operates a total of 19 unmanned civil service kiosks located at the district office civil service center, 10 community service centers, Noryangjin Station (Line 9), Soongsil University Station, Dongjak Tax Office, Chung-Ang University Hospital, and Boramae Hospital.

Earlier, the district relocated one unmanned kiosk from the district office to Exit 4 of Noryangjin Station, which is more accessible to residents, expanding operating hours and locations. It is available year-round from 5 a.m. to midnight and is equipped with features such as a keypad for the disabled, Braille labels, voice support, and screen magnification for the visually impaired.

Detailed locations and usage information for unmanned civil service kiosks installed in the area can be found on the Dongjak-gu Office website under "Comprehensive Civil Service."

In addition, to strengthen residents' right to know, the district will significantly reduce fees for information disclosure requests according to the revised ordinance.

Previously, applicants had to pay 5,000 KRW per 700MB when copying audio and video electronic files such as voice recordings and closed-circuit television (CCTV), but from now on, the fee will be only 800 KRW per 1GB.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, "We expect that waiving fees for these eight types of civil service documents at unmanned kiosks will reduce the burden on residents and improve administrative satisfaction," adding, "We will continue to implement various policies to enhance the quality of administrative services."
