Recruiting Participants Until June 24... 5-Week Training Starting July
Develop Practical Skills Like Startup Item Discovery and Business Plan Writing
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) is recruiting students for the '2024 Social Economy and Youth Startup Academy' to revitalize the local social economy and support youth entrepreneurship activities.
The training will be held face-to-face at the Jungnang-gu Social Economy Support Center every Tuesday from 2 PM to 4 PM for a total of 5 weeks starting July 2, and the tuition is free.
The target participants are Seoul citizens who wish to start a business, those who want to convert existing organizations or corporations into social economy enterprises, and those who wish to start a business in the upcycling field using sewing waste fabric.
This academy is operated by Manyuinryeok Co., Ltd., a social enterprise in Jungnang-gu, and will proceed in the order of basic startup education and basic entrepreneurship education.
The main contents of the basic startup education include ▲entrepreneurial spirit and social mission ▲introduction of youth startup cases ▲discovery and concretization of startup items ▲guidance on government startup support projects ▲mentoring on business plan writing, conducted over 5 weeks.
After the 'basic startup education,' a mid-term evaluation will be conducted for teams that have written business plans to select candidates for the 'basic entrepreneurship education.' For those selected for the 'basic entrepreneurship education,' training will be provided to develop practical skills through ▲business model establishment and business concretization support ▲team consulting ▲pilot project funding support.
After the training, the district plans to carefully manage follow-up support such as assisting participation in government startup support public projects and helping connect local social economy networks so that various social economy actors in the region can continue to grow.
Those who wish to apply for the training can download the form from the Jungnang-gu Social Economy Support Center website and fill it out and submit it by June 24.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "I hope that through this startup academy, young people and prospective entrepreneurs will gain practical help for starting a business and find new opportunities. We will continue to discover and promote policies that help discover and nurture capable entrepreneurs for the development of the local community and revitalization of the social economy."
The district's startup academy has achieved many results. Among the teams that took the course last year, one was designated as a preliminary social enterprise under the Ministry of Employment and Labor and moved into the Social Economy Support Center. There are also companies selected for the 2024 government startup support project. Additionally, three teams have moved into the shared office, a space for nurturing preliminary social entrepreneurs at the Social Economy Support Center.
