Gyeonggi-do to Start Accepting Applications for Youth Basic Income Q2 from 30th... Annual Payment of 1 Million Won Gyeonggi Provincial Government

Gyeonggi Province will accept applications for the 2nd quarter (April to June) of the 2024 “Youth Basic Income,” which provides 250,000 KRW per quarter (up to 1,000,000 KRW) to 24-year-old youths, from the 30th of this month until the 28th of next month.

Applicants must be 24 years old, born between April 2, 1999, and April 1, 2000, and registered as residents in Gyeonggi Province as of the application date. They must have lived continuously in the province for at least 3 years or have a total of 10 years or more of residence. Regardless of employment status, graduation, income, or assets, anyone meeting these criteria (excluding those without a fixed residence or foreigners) can apply.

Eligible youths can sign up on the Gyeonggi job platform Jobaba (apply.jobaba.net) and apply online or via mobile.

Applicants need to prepare a resident registration abstract (issued after May 30, including the address history for the last 5 years or the entire period). However, basic livelihood security recipients must submit a certificate of basic livelihood security separately.

After verifying the applicant’s age and residence period, Gyeonggi Province will pay 250,000 KRW for the 2nd quarter starting from July 20 via an electronic card or mobile local currency.

Selected recipients will receive a confirmation message via text, and the card will be delivered to the address provided during application. Once the card is received, registering it through the customer center or mobile app allows immediate use like a check card at traditional markets or small business establishments within the registered area. However, usage is restricted at department stores, large supermarkets, corporate supermarkets (SSM), entertainment establishments, and similar venues.
