Japan: "Object Possibly North Korean Ballistic Missile Fell Outside EEZ"

The Japanese Ministry of Defense announced on the morning of the 30th that North Korea launched an object that is likely a ballistic missile.

Local media, including NHK, cited information from the Ministry of Defense that morning, reporting, "An object that is likely a ballistic missile was launched," and added, "It appears to have already fallen outside Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)."

The Japanese government is currently analyzing the specifications of the North Korean ballistic missile, including its flight distance, altitude, and speed. The Ministry of Defense also urged caution regarding information that will be provided to vessels navigating the area in the future.

The Republic of Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff also announced on the same day that North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the East Sea. This occurred just three days after a failed launch of a military reconnaissance satellite launch vehicle on the 27th.
