PwC, a global accounting firm headquartered in London, UK, confirmed in a blog post on the 29th (local time) that "this agreement will help expand the technology ecosystem, deepen the adoption of generative AI, and accelerate customer impact by expanding AI capabilities across the enterprise."

Accordingly, PwC’s global employees will be able to use OpenAI’s AI tools, including OpenAI’s latest model GPT-4o (Four), which focuses on voice and image. Additionally, PwC customers will also be able to resell ChatGPT Enterprise. Currently, PwC’s workforce is confirmed to be over 100,000, including 75,000 in the United States and 26,000 in the United Kingdom.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that "PwC has become OpenAI’s largest corporate customer using ChatGPT Enterprise." This is also the first time OpenAI has signed a contract allowing resale of its AI products.

However, the two companies did not disclose specific contract terms. Previously, PwC announced in April last year that it would invest a total of $1 billion over three years to expand AI capabilities. The contract revealed on this day is also interpreted as part of this investment.

OpenAI is also expanding paid subscriptions and enterprise sales to cover the enormous costs required to advance generative AI. In February last year, it launched ChatGPT Plus, a paid version of ChatGPT, and in August of the same year, it launched ChatGPT Enterprise, which enhances security for corporate clients.
