Cho Ho-kwon, Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor, Conducts 'Public-Private Joint Smoking Cessation Campaign' for World No Tobacco Day

On the afternoon of the 29th, Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, conducted a joint public-private smoking cessation campaign in Daerim 2-dong to mark World No Tobacco Day.

The campaign involved Mayor Choi Ho-gwon, district office staff, and members of local civic organizations, who together promoted the necessity and importance of quitting smoking, led by local residents.

On the day, the district organized three teams to carry out the smoking cessation campaign, conducted guidance to prevent street smoking and illegal cigarette butt littering, and operated a mobile smoking cessation clinic to provide consultations.

Additionally, they cleaned the streets by collecting cigarette butts and held a special event where rewards were given based on the weight of the collected cigarette butts.

Mayor Choi Ho-gwon stated, “I hope this campaign serves as a good opportunity to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking and the need to quit,” adding, “We will continue active support and activities to protect the healthy daily lives of our residents.”
