A cellist, known to be the source of the so-called 'Cheongdam-dong drinking party suspicion,' has filed an injunction with the court to prohibit the broadcast of their voice.

On the 29th, lawyer Lee Je-il of the law firm Sarambup represented cellist A and filed a broadcast (reporting) prohibition injunction against Newtamsa and reporter Kang Jin-gu at the Seoul Central District Court.

A demanded that Newtamsa and other YouTube channels and websites refrain from posting any recordings containing their voice, related videos, or photos. If violated, each party must pay 5 million KRW per day to A.

In the petition, A's side claimed, "Reporter Kang and others have been broadcasting multiple audio recordings, including false content voice recordings, without consent for three years through Thetamsa and Newtamsa YouTube channels, and are preparing to continue broadcasting."

They added, "The person who secretly recorded private content and delivered it to reporter Kang and others was A's boyfriend B and others. A appeared at the police in November 2022 and testified that 'I lied to deceive my ex-boyfriend,' repeatedly stating that this suspicion is false. Nevertheless, reporter Kang and others have continued broadcasting for three years, during which A has suffered severe insults and defamation."

Furthermore, "Reporter Kang conspired with B to coerce A into making a conscience declaration that the drinking party existed, contacted A with such demands, and broadcasted it, seriously infringing on A's personality rights. The two committed attempted coercion against A and were also sent to the prosecution for defamation by false facts under the Information and Communications Network Act," they pointed out.

The Cheongdam-dong drinking party suspicion was raised by Kim Eui-gyeom, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, during the Ministry of Justice's National Assembly inspection by the Legislation and Judiciary Committee in October 2022.

The recording containing A's voice included content that could be inferred that then-Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon had a late-night drinking party at a luxury bar in Cheongdam-dong with President Yoon Seok-yeol and 30 lawyers from Kim & Chang law firm.
