From May 28 to June 10, a total of 14 days
Review of key agendas including the 1st Supplementary Budget Proposal for 2024 and the 2023 Fiscal Year Settlement Approval
The Gwangjin District Council (Chairman Chu Yoon-gu) opened the 269th 1st regular session on the 28th, commencing a total of 14 days of legislative schedule until June 10.
This 269th 1st regular session will handle a total of 25 agenda items, including the approval of the 2023 fiscal year settlement, the 1st supplementary budget for 2024, and 22 ordinance proposals, starting with the plenary session.
In his opening remarks, Chairman Chu Yoon-gu said, “As we approach the summer, please ensure thorough pre-inspections and preparations to establish comprehensive summer disaster and accident countermeasures for the safety of district residents.” He added, “This regular session is an important meeting as it includes the review of the first supplementary budget and the 2023 fiscal year settlement. I hope the review will be substantial to provide practical assistance in the formulation of next year’s budget and financial plans. I also ask for your generous encouragement and support for the second half of the 9th Gwangjin District Council.”
Following the opening remarks, Jang Gil-cheon, the chief auditor, reported on the “2023 Fiscal Year Settlement Audit Results,” after which the executive branch provided explanations regarding the submission of the 1st supplementary budget for 2024.
During the subsequent 5-minute free speech session, Councilor Go Sang-soon spoke, urging the executive branch to actively develop policies to respond to the climate crisis and protect the environment, as well as efforts to improve the water quality of Ilgamho Lake at Konkuk University.
Later that afternoon, at the Budget and Settlement Special Committee, Councilor Go Yang-seok was elected as chairman, and Councilor Seo Min-woo as vice chairman.
Meanwhile, the Gwangjin District Council plans to review ordinance proposals and other agenda items by each standing committee on the 29th, examine the 2023 fiscal year settlement, contingency funds, and the 1st supplementary budget for 2024 from May 30 to June 7, and hold the 2nd plenary session on June 10 to process the agenda items reviewed by each standing committee, thereby concluding the 269th 1st regular session.
