Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation Participates in "2024 Korea Rice Festa"

Recognized for Contributions as the Nation's Only Grain Wholesale Market, Awarded Agricultural Brand Grand Prize
After Relocating to the Newly Constructed Grain Wholesale Market, Will Contribute to Rice Consumption Promotion with Advanced Distribution Systems and Improved Logistics Efficiency

The Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Moon Young-pyo) participated in the '2024 Korea Rice Festa' held at Seoul City Hall Plaza from the 28th to the 29th.

This event was held to widely promote the nutritional value and excellence of domestic rice both domestically and internationally, to stimulate domestic rice consumption, and to foster coexistence with rice farmers. The corporation attracted significant public interest in rice through various programs related to rice, including the exhibition and sale of 13 rice varieties and 10 mixed grains, on-site milling of 5-minute polished rice using an instant milling machine, and giveaways of prizes (rice, mixed grains) through a roulette game.

Additionally, at the event, the corporation was recognized for its contributions as the nation's only wholesale grain market and received the Agricultural Brand Award (Commendation from the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Policy).

Kim Hyun-gon, head of the corporation's Grain Business Office, stated, "The wholesale grain market will continue to actively participate in efforts to promote rice consumption. After relocating to the new wholesale grain market currently under construction, we will contribute to promoting rice consumption with a more advanced appearance through the introduction of cutting-edge distribution systems, increased logistics efficiency, and efficient building configuration."

The new wholesale grain market is being constructed at 229-7 Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, about 11 km from the current site, with a target completion date of December 2025. It will be built on a site area of 8,496㎡ (total floor area 9,521㎡), with 2 basement floors and 2 above-ground floors.
