Convenience store 7-Eleven is presenting summer gourmet dishes tailored for the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) in collaboration with Japanese cuisine expert Chef Jeong Ho-young. The summer delicacies being released are two types: ‘Kaden Seasoned Grilled Eel Rice Bowl (9,900 KRW)’ and ‘Kaden Cold Udon (4,500 KRW).’ Both are menu items sold at ‘Kaden,’ a restaurant operated by Chef Jeong Ho-young, which has been selected for the Michelin Guide Seoul for seven consecutive years.


The Kaden Seasoned Grilled Eel Rice Bowl features a whole grilled freshwater eel glazed with teriyaki sauce. It applies Chef Jeong Ho-young’s secret eel grilling techniques and sauce know-how, topped with shredded egg garnish to enhance a soft texture and flavor. Pickled scallions and pickled ginger are included separately, along with wasabi, and it is served in a long rectangular lunchbox-style container. The Kaden Cold Udon was made by referencing Chef Jeong Ho-young’s noodle-making skills, who specializes in udon. It is a product served with a savory katsuobushi broth, topped with green onion flakes, mustard, and ice, accompanied by a regular-sized ice cup. When eaten with ice, it offers a chewy noodle texture.

Coca-Cola’s official sports drink for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Powerade, has launched a new product called ‘Powerade Scarlet Storm.’ This peach-flavored product is described by Coca-Cola as ideal for enjoying a tasty drink while replenishing hydration during exercise. Like the existing Powerade, it contains four types of electrolytes (ION4): sodium ion (Na+), potassium ion (K+), calcium ion (Ca++), and magnesium ion (Mg++), along with vitamins B3, B5, and B6, and is released as a low-calorie beverage. Powerade Scarlet Storm is available in a 600ml PET bottle and is sold through LG Household & Health Care’s subsidiary Coca-Cola Beverage across convenience stores, large supermarkets, and online and offline channels.

On the 29th, Dongwon Industries announced the launch of ‘Convenient Squeeze-Type Seasoned Pollock Roe,’ packaged in 30g portions for enhanced convenience. This product contains peeled warm pollock roe in 30g packets, allowing users to take out only the amount needed. It is hygienic as there is no need to refreeze thawed pollock roe. Additionally, it is matured for 72 hours using domestic Cheongju rice wine and Korean salt, resulting in a mild yet savory flavor, making it suitable as an ingredient for various dishes such as bibimbap, pasta, and rolled omelets. The price is 13,900 KRW, and it is available through major online malls, Lotte Mart, E-Mart Everyday, and other offline channels.

Lotte Chilsung Beverage is launching two highball products, ‘Scotch High Lemon’ and ‘Scotch High Ginger Lime,’ based on 100% Scotch whisky concentrate. The two Scotch High highballs, products of the authentic Scotch whisky brand ‘Scotch Blue,’ were developed through long-term research by experts on highballs and consideration of consumer preferences. They are blended with Scotch whisky concentrate at an optimal ratio without adding distilled spirits. They feature a strong carbonation and a clean taste with zero sugar, containing no fructose. The products come in 355ml cans with an alcohol content of 7% and will be available at large supermarkets and convenience stores starting early June.
