Military and Government to Provide High-Speed Satellite Network for Financial Sector
"Discovering Excellent Partners... Leading the Future Satellite Market"
KT SAT announced on the 29th that it has signed a business agreement with the German low Earth orbit satellite operator 'Rivada Space Networks (Rivada)'.
This is the third time KT SAT has partnered with a global low Earth orbit satellite operator, following Starlink in August last year and OneWeb in February this year.
KT SAT explained, "The collaboration with Rivada is part of a strategy to secure low Earth orbit satellite capacity and diversify product portfolios for different customer groups in order to advance as a multi-orbit business operator."
Rivada is characterized by providing highly secure services through 100% inter-satellite communication without ground gateway connections. Rivada plans to launch a total of 600 low Earth orbit satellites by 2028 and establish a global PTP (Point to Point) communication network through laser communication between satellites.
KT SAT plans to use Rivada's services to provide high-speed satellite networks primarily to security-sensitive customers in the military, government, and financial sectors.
Seo Young-su, CEO of KT SAT, said, "We will discover and cooperate with excellent business partners like Rivada, proactively secure non-geostationary orbit satellite resources and differentiated solutions, and lead the future satellite market."
