Open to All Elementary and Middle School Students, Applications Start on the 27th

Gijang-gun, Busan (Governor Jung Jongbok) is recruiting participants for the ‘2024 Local-Linked Student Club’ for elementary and middle school students in the district until June 12, in order to provide students interested in culture, arts, and sports with various experiential opportunities.

Notice for Recruiting Participants for Local Community Student Clubs

The ‘2024 Local-Linked Student Club’ is a program where students can experience culture, arts, and sports activities with their peers, fostering cooperation, physical strength, artistic sensibility, and character. Hosted by Gijang-gun and organized by Dream Job School Busan, the program will be held every Saturday from June 15 to November 30, for a total of 25 sessions.

Participating students will have the opportunity to discover their hidden talents and passions through activities such as cheerleading, webtoon creation, and sand art clubs, while also developing their ability to communicate and empathize with peers. The outcomes and works that students learn and create over six months will be presented to parents and local residents through exhibitions or presentations linked to community events.

The program is open to about 120 students from grades 4 to 6 of elementary school and middle school students in the district. Those wishing to participate can apply online (by scanning the QR code) from 10:00 a.m. on May 27 to 6:00 p.m. on June 12.

Participation is completely free of charge, and any student in the district who wants to learn programs that are usually difficult to access and gain opportunities for growth through a sharing event of achievements is welcome to join.

The clubs will be divided into a total of six classes: three in Jeonggwan and three in Gijang, with 15 to 20 students per class. The three Jeonggwan classes will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Station K on the 2nd floor of the CGV building and Wooa Dance Academy, while the three Gijang classes will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Dahaeng Bukhan General Social Welfare Center.

Governor Jung Jongbok said, “Through these club activities, I hope our students not only cultivate knowledge in various fields but also develop their communication and empathy skills. We will actively support the young talents of Gijang so that they can grow into well-rounded individuals through diverse cultural, artistic, and sports activities.”
