Jindo-gun Achieves Success in Opening Export Channels for Fresh Agricultural and Marine Products to Europe

Agricultural and Marine Products Export Development Team Signs $3 Million Export Agreement with Pan Asia Co., Ltd.

The Jeonnam Jindo-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Export Development Team visited Vienna, Austria, and signed a $3 million export agreement with the local food import and distribution company, Pan Asia Handels GmbH.


According to the county on the 28th, Pan Asia Handels GmbH, established in 2002, is a food import and distribution company with six branches including London, UK, and achieves annual sales of about 100 billion KRW through over 6,000 local clients across Europe.


The Jindo-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Export Development Team is also scheduled to attend promotional events for Jindo agricultural and marine products held at the Asia Food Center, an Asian food specialty market located in Vienna, Austria, and at K-shop, a Korean food specialty online and offline store located in Frankfurt, Germany.

The stores where the special sales events are being promoted are major clients of Pan Asia Handels GmbH. The Jindo-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Export Development Team plans to discuss activating store entry and diversifying export items through this event.


This export involves 15 tons of Jindo’s clean agricultural and marine products, including Jindo rice and dried seafood, marking the first entry of Jindo agricultural and marine products into the European market and is highly regarded as pioneering a new market.


With this, Jindo-gun has signed export agreements worth a total of $11 million (approximately 15 billion KRW) in six regions across five countries, including Australia (Sydney) last year, the United States (LA, Philadelphia), Vietnam (Hanoi), and now Austria (Vienna) and Germany (Frankfurt), enabling continuous promotional events through export agreements.


Kim Hee-su, head of the Jindo-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Export Development Team and Jindo County Governor, said, “As the popularity of Korean food (K-food) continues to rise and more consumers abroad visit Korean grocery stores, now is the time to strengthen and accelerate exports of Jindo agricultural and marine products. We will keep knocking on overseas market doors with Jindo-gun’s excellent agricultural and marine food products through continuous exchange and cooperation with local distribution networks and purchasing importers.”


Meanwhile, the Jindo-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Export Development Team plans to continue marketing by visiting Austria, the Netherlands, and Germany sequentially until the 4th of next month to understand distribution and sales networks and hold business consultations with local purchasing importers.
