The program, held over three days from the 9th at the Shilla Stay Hotel in Yeosu, was jointly organized by Chosun Institute of Science and Technology, Sinseong University, and Jeju Halla University, in cooperation with the Small and Medium Business Corporation Honam Training Institute and the Yeosu City Yeosu Industrial Complex Joint Development Council.

About 100 students from 11 vocational colleges nationwide attended the event and received education in 'Python,' a key programming language essential in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The training was designed to help students new to coding understand the basic principles well through sessions such as 'Learning Coding Tools,' 'My First Coding Portfolio,' and 'Automation Projects Using Coding,' providing an opportunity to increase interest in related job fields.

On the second day, the 10th, participants toured LG Chem's Yeosu plant, a major corporation in the Honam region. Attendees had the chance to visit LG Chem's factory facilities and listen to explanations about engineering and production technology jobs, as well as the recruitment process. Lee Jae-geun, a second-year mechanical engineering student at Chosun Institute of Science and Technology who participated in the program, said, "Although my major is mechanical engineering, I have always been interested in programming languages. Participating in this training was meaningful as it helped me strengthen my digital literacy and capabilities in the software field."

Meanwhile, Chosun Institute of Science and Technology, Sinseong University, and Jeju Halla University plan to operate a 'Manufacturing Data Analysis Using Platforms' course over three days and two nights in Cheonan this August. Interested students can inquire at each school's Engineering Education Technology Innovation Center.
