Sisterhood Cemetery Maintenance and Flower Offering
Lotte Construction announced on the 28th that its executives, employees, and their families visited the National Cemetery to carry out grave site maintenance volunteer activities.
About 70 members of the Sharotte Volunteer Group, composed of Lotte Construction executives, employees, and their families, visited the National Seoul Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul on the 25th, ahead of Memorial Day.
The Sharotte Volunteer Group paid respects at the Memorial Tower to honor the noble sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs and national heroes, then toured the Memorial Tablet Hall. Afterwards, they conducted grave site maintenance activities such as moving stone flower vases, offering flowers, cleaning tombstones, and placing Taegeukgi flags at Grave Site No. 24, with which they have a sisterhood relationship. After the volunteer work, they spent time in the exhibition hall within the cemetery for remembrance.
A Lotte Construction official said, “The executives, employees, and families who participated in the volunteer activities had a meaningful time reflecting on and appreciating the spirit of sacrifice of those who dedicated themselves to the country. We will continue to take the lead in establishing ourselves as a company that fulfills social responsibility through various social contribution activities.”
The Lotte Construction Sharotte Volunteer Group was launched in 2011. Over the past 12 years, a total of 1,138 executives, employees, and their families have participated in 18 volunteer activities. They have implemented programs such as ‘Love House that Gives Dreams and Hope,’ which improves deteriorated residential environments, and ‘Sharing Briquettes of Love,’ which delivers briquettes to energy-vulnerable households during winter. Social contribution activities are carried out using the Sharotte Volunteer Fund, created through a 1:3 matching grant system where all executives and employees donate to society and the company donates three times that amount together.
