Seven students from the UHP Materials Process Laboratory (Advisor: Chun Eunjun) of the Department of Advanced Materials System Engineering at Pukyong National University recently presented their research on topics such as power generation, gas turbines for aviation, welding of superalloys for steam turbines, 3D printing material technology, next-generation secondary battery modules, and pack laser processing technology at these academic conferences, achieving excellent results.

At the Korean Welding and Joining Society, master's student Lee Sungjin received the Outstanding Oral Presentation Award for his presentation on "Solidification Crack Behavior in Hf-free 247LC Superalloy Welds."

In addition, Yoo Yeji, a combined bachelor's and master's degree student, received the Poster Presentation Award for "Solidification Crack Behavior in Al-Cu Laser Welds for Lithium Secondary Batteries: Evaluation of Solidification Crack Sensitivity According to Ni-P Electrodeposition Thickness." Third-year student Koo Siheon received the award for "Solidification Crack Behavior in Single Crystal CMSX-4 Superalloy Welds." Third-year student Kim Heeeun was recognized for "Evaluation of Liquation Crack Behavior in 247LC Multi-layer Welds Using Triple-bead Varestraint Test," and third-year student Kim Hyojeong received the award for "Solidification Crack Behavior in Hf-free 247LC Superalloy Welds."

At the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials, Park Jaehyun, a combined bachelor's and master's degree student, received the Outstanding Oral Presentation Award for "Investigation of Solidification Crack Behavior in Cu-Steel Laser Welds for Lithium-ion Batteries: Possibility of Reducing Solidification Cracks Using Ni-P Plating." Shin Minchang, also a combined bachelor's and master's degree student, received the award for "Solidification Crack Behavior in CMSX-4 Single Crystal Superalloy Welds: BTR Variation According to Single Crystal and Polycrystallization."
