Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Produces and Distributes Q&A Style Strategy Guide
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Fair Trade Commission announced on the 28th that they will distribute a guidebook on probability-based items. It is a commentary guide created for game users. The content is presented in a Q&A format to make it easy for beginners to understand.
The guidebook includes ▲ the definition and types of probability-based items ▲ the location and method of displaying probability information ▲ reporting channels for cases where probability information disclosure is incorrect ▲ verification procedures for probability manipulation or false probabilities, among others.
It also explains various institutional measures promoted by the government to create a fair gaming ecosystem. A representative example is the special litigation system under the 'Game Industry Act,' which is currently in the legislative process in the National Assembly. The content mainly covers the liability for damages of game companies related to probability-based items and the shift of the burden of proof, which effectively remedies damages suffered by game users.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Game Rating and Administration Committee operate a monitoring team composed of twenty-four members to oversee the probability-based item information disclosure system. As of this month, 150 corrective actions have been requested from game companies, of which fifty-four have been rectified. If corrective measures are not completed within 20 days, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism responds to violations with recommendations or orders for correction.
