Seoul Gangdong-gu and Wonju City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, signed a 'Friendship Agreement' on the 27th. Provided by Gangdong-gu.
Gangdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 28th that it signed a 'friendship alliance' agreement with Wonju City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Won Kang-soo) on the 27th.
According to the friendship alliance agreement, the two cities will focus on practical benefits that residents can feel, such as discounts on cultural and tourist site fees, and seek mutual cooperation and development plans in various fields.
The two cities have maintained active exchanges since last year. Starting with the exchange of letters of intent for exchange between Gangdong-gu and Wonju City in July last year, they have engaged in activities such as visiting local festivals and participating in direct transaction markets, and recently held a Gangdong-gu labor-management cooperation workshop in Wonju City.
To commemorate the friendship alliance agreement with Wonju City, a special sales event for Gangwon Province will be held at the Open Garden of Gangdong-gu Office from the 30th to the 31st. Nine cities and counties of Gangwon Province, including Wonju City, which recently formed the friendship alliance, will participate.
The agreement ceremony was held at Wonju City Hall with the attendance of Mayor Lee Soo-hee of Gangdong-gu, Mayor Won Kang-soo, members of the city councils of both cities, and related officials.
