From May 28, First-Come, First-Served Recruitment of 120 Youth Under 1 Year Employment at Local SMEs Including Social Ventures and Startups... Workplace Adaptation Support Program Offering 14 Hours of Practical Training in Business Manners, Document Writing Skills, and Follow-Up Management
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Wono) announced that it will operate a workplace adaptation support project as part of the ‘Youth Growth Project’ to help young new employees working in small and medium-sized enterprises such as social ventures and startups in the region smoothly adapt to their organizations.
The ‘Youth Growth Project’ is a program that provides customized onboarding (organizational socialization) training essential for career development to help young people who have difficulty adapting to the workplace in the early stages and to promote their participation in economic activities. Seongdong-gu was selected for a public contest project hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor last April and secured the entire project budget of 80 million KRW.
The program targets young people who have joined small and medium-sized enterprises such as strong small companies and social venture companies within one year of employment in the region, and will recruit 120 trainees from May 28. It offers 14 hours of practical training courses including ▲ Business manners for new employees ▲ Practical document writing skills ▲ Growing as an ACE follower ▲ Work reporting speech skills.
Post-management programs such as individual counseling, provision of online education programs, and support for networking meetings will also be conducted. Additionally, customized smart work training considering the characteristics of applicant companies such as social ventures and ICT companies concentrated around Seongsu-dong will be added and operated.
Through this project, Seongdong-gu plans to help young people adapt to their workplaces in the early stages and create synergy effects by prioritizing the selection of small and medium-sized enterprises lacking new employee training infrastructure so that companies and new employees can grow together.
The training will be held over 10 sessions with 12 participants per session at the education center on the 2nd floor of Seoul Forest Understand Avenue from June 13 for four months, and will be commissioned and operated by the Korea Management Association (KMA), a professional education consulting organization.
Companies or participants wishing to join can apply through the Seongdong-gu Office website or by phone to the Korea Management Association (KMA).
In addition, Seongdong-gu is actively promoting various youth employment and startup job projects, including the ‘Youth Challenge Support Project’ to support socially isolated and reclusive youth taking their first steps in social activities, operation of two specialized youth centers for independence and employment roles, creation of ‘Youth Startup Spaces’ equipped with one-stop youth startup infrastructure, and regional customized talent development projects in cooperation with local universities such as the ‘Campus Town Development Project’ and the ‘Hive Project,’ accelerating the establishment and operation of a comprehensive support system for youth by target group.
Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, “We have prepared workplace adaptation support training to help young people who have just started working smoothly adapt to their organizations, so we ask for your great interest,” and added, “We will continue to closely promote customized job projects for youth by target group and strive harder to create quality youth jobs.”
