Walking Around the Marisan Tumuli with Handmade Lanterns Under the Full Moonlight...
Haman County in Gyeongnam Province announced on the 27th that it successfully held the '2024 Moonlight Greeting at Marisan with Cultural Tourism Interpreters' event on the 24th and 25th, with around 40 applicants from various parts of the province participating over two days.
The event featured a hands-on experience making cultural heritage lanterns, followed by a guided tour of the Marisan Ancient Tombs by a cultural tourism interpreter. Participants then completed a pre-prepared activity sheet as part of a game program, which was particularly well received by families.

The lantern-making program was especially popular as it allowed participants to create their own lanterns based on Haman County's cultural heritage, rather than using standard kits. In addition, the sight of participants walking through the ancient tombs with their lanterns under the full moon created a spectacular scene.
Lee Hyeonbeom, head of the County Tourism Education Division, commented at the event, "Moonlight Greeting is a program where cultural tourism interpreters provide specialized night-time tours utilizing the content around the Marisan Ancient Tombs, our county's proud cultural heritage. By offering cultural content that reflects the past, present, and future value of our heritage to local residents, we aim to enhance the pride of the Aragaya people. We ask for your continued interest and participation in the future."
The 'Moonlight Greeting' program will run from May to October this year, with two sessions each month during the full moon period, operating from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The scheduled dates may change depending on weather conditions.
Those wishing to participate should refer to the Haman County Office website and apply at 10:00 AM on the 13th of each month.
