Daegu Dong-gu Office Hosts 'Bongmu Park Insect Festival'... YouTuber Egg Doctor to Appear

Daegu Dong-gu District Office will host the 4th Bommu Park Insect Festival from June 1 to 2 in the area around Bommu Park in Dong-gu.

This year marks the 4th edition of the festival, which is themed "Butterflies and Friends, Guardians of the Earth," and promises to be an even more enjoyable and entertaining event with a rich variety of activities.

Centered around the Bommu Butterfly Ecological Center, the only insect-themed space in Daegu, the event is organized under captivating sub-themes such as Excitement, Relaxation, Imagination, Fun, Future, and Dreams.

At the special stage in Bommu Park, the first day will feature an opening ceremony to mark the start of the Insect Festival, followed by an opening performance where local children release butterflies of hope. Other events include a talk concert with YouTuber Egg Doctor, balloon and bubble performances, and the Bommu Insect Golden Bell Quiz Show.

The festival will also feature exhibitions that bring the slogan "Butterflies and Friends, Guardians of the Earth" to life, including displays of various insects from around the world, endangered flora and fauna, climate change bioindicators, aquatic creatures, nocturnal insects, and endangered insects such as the Jangsu Hanulso beetle.

Additionally, throughout the festival grounds, there will be sections introducing the future development plans of Dong-gu and the K-2 redevelopment site, a flea market for buying and selling various goods, booths promoting local specialties from Dong-gu, as well as hands-on experiences like sharing Jangsupungdengi larvae and an insect air bounce, offering a wide range of fun activities.
