Surprise Karaoke Broadcast Before Explanation Stream
Lasting Nearly 4 Hours... Actual Explanation Came Afterward
Popular YouTuber Chimchakman (real name Lee Byung-geon) reportedly conducted a 'weekend karaoke' content for a full four hours before holding a live broadcast to clarify the 'petition against Min Hee-jin's dismissal' issue.
Earlier, on the afternoon of the 26th, Chimchakman held a live broadcast titled "I'm so angry I can't live" on his YouTube channel. During the broadcast, he explained the circumstances behind submitting the petition against CEO Min's dismissal for about two hours.
However, the 'highlight' came before the explanation. Before starting the main clarification, he conducted the weekend karaoke content with the intention of cooling down his 'heat.' The songs were played using YouTube audio tracks, and Chimchakman sang passionately himself, continuing for nearly four hours. It is known that he sang about thirty songs consecutively that day.
The reactions from netizens were enthusiastic. Comments included, "This seems like the best way to cool down before announcing a position," "The highly developed Chimchakman is indistinguishable from Korea's top four vocalists," and "The host's mindset is great."
Some netizens also focused on his 'stamina,' noting that he still had the energy to continue the broadcast even after singing passionately for four hours. In fact, Chimchakman is known to enjoy singing during live broadcasts. In the past, he has sung between 30 to 100 songs in one go.
Meanwhile, this controversy arose on the 24th. News spread that domestic and international figures who had worked with CEO Min submitted a petition opposing her dismissal.
In particular, the list included a name similar to Chimchakman's real name, 'Lee Byung-gyeon,' which led netizens to speculate that Chimchakman himself had signed the petition. As the controversy grew, Chimchakman clarified the matter directly through a broadcast on the 26th.
During the broadcast, he said, "To put it simply, I am the one who submitted the petition," and explained, "The submitter was listed as Lee Byung-gyeon, but it wasn't because I wanted to cowardly hide my identity. When submitting the documents, I attached a copy of my resident registration card on the back, but for some unknown reason, the name was recorded as 'Lee Byung-gyeon.'"
Regarding the reason for writing the petition, he said, "I wrote it from a personal standpoint, and I am not involved in whether HYBE and ADOR are doing well or not, so I don't know much about that," but added, "The reason I hope the dismissal doesn't happen is because when I met CEO Min a few times, the synergy between NewJeans and CEO Min seemed good." Previously, NewJeans appeared on Chimchakman's channel during their new song release last year, and Chimchakman also made a surprise appearance in NewJeans' 'OMG' music video, showing their connection.
