Dongseo Foods Announces Call for Entries for 'Salmuihyanggi Dongseo Literary Award' to Discover Female Writers

Dongseo Foods announced on the 27th that it is accepting submissions for the 17th Scent of Life Dongseo Literary Award, which discovers new female writers, until October 1st.

The Scent of Life Dongseo Literary Award is the largest domestic literary award for new female writers, celebrating its 36th year this year. It is held every two years to discover talented female writers. Approximately 18,500 works were submitted for the 16th Dongseo Literary Award, attracting great interest from aspiring writers.

This time, works in four categories?poetry, novels, essays, and children's literature (fairy tales and children's poetry)?are being accepted on any topic. Any woman in the Republic of Korea can participate, and submissions can be made through the Dongseo Literary Award website or by mail.

The winning works will be announced on October 22nd on the Dongseo Literary Award website after judging. The total prize money amounts to 79 million KRW, including 10 million KRW for the grand prize. In addition, the grand prize winner and gold prize winners in each category will have their works published in the comprehensive literary magazine "Monthly Literature," providing an opportunity for debut, and will be granted membership eligibility in the Korean Writers' Association.

Various online and offline side events will also be held during the submission period. Programs include a "Mentoring Class," where participants can learn writing basics to practical skills from famous writers; a "Mentoring Board," offering one-on-one writing guidance through an online bulletin board; and a creative workshop "Literature Camp" held outdoors.
