"Min Heejin and NewJeans Fan, I Told You I Released It"… 'Chimchakman' Strikes Back at Petition Controversy

Due to an error, it was posted under the name 'I Byeonggyeon'
"CEO Min Heejin has great synergy with NewJeans and a strong bond"

Webtoon artist and broadcaster Chimchakman (Lee Mal-nyeon) admitted that he submitted a petition opposing the dismissal of Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR. On the 26th, Chimchakman explained the background of submitting the petition opposing Min's dismissal during a live broadcast titled "I'm so angry I can't live." Chimchakman said, "I was unsure whether to speak or not, but I'll keep it brief. It is true that I submitted the petition opposing CEO Min Hee-jin's dismissal," and added, "I wanted to write the petition quietly, but people speculated, asking if it was submitted under the name Lee Byung-gyeon."

He continued, "I did submit the petition. When submitting a petition, a copy of the resident registration card is attached at the back. Please don't make baseless assumptions. But I don't know why it was submitted under the name Lee Byung-gyeon." Chimchakman's real name is Lee Byung-gun, but due to an input error, the name 'Lee Byung-gyeon' was recorded. He recalled, "I heard about the trial from an acquaintance. They said, 'We are going to write a petition; if you want, write one.' I asked, 'What is a petition?' They asked, 'Do you personally want the dismissal or not?' and I thought, 'I hope it doesn't happen.'"

He then explained, "I don't know the relationship between HYBE and ADOR. How would I know when I'm not involved? I met CEO Min a few times, and she seemed to have a good synergy with NewJeans and appeared close-knit. I felt she worked with pride, so I wrote the petition. Nothing more, nothing less. I just submitted the petition hoping she would be given one more chance." He also expressed displeasure, saying, "Please don't demand explanations from me. Bringing up trivial matters and making a fuss for days was very annoying. If what I did was morally wrong, then criticize me. But I hope people don't make a big deal out of something insignificant."

Earlier, HYBE filed a complaint last month against Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR, on charges including breach of duty. HYBE requested an extraordinary shareholders' meeting to dismiss Min. In response, ADOR's management scheduled the shareholders' meeting for the 31st and filed an injunction with the Seoul Central District Court to prohibit HYBE from exercising voting rights.
