June 24th Partnership Agreement with College of Natural Sciences... MOU with College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Scheduled for June
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) is promoting the ‘Dongjak S-Class (tentative name)’ program, where current Seoul National University students directly share study methods and school life to support local youth in their college entrance exams.
The district announced that on the 24th, it signed a ‘Dongjak-gu?Seoul National University College of Natural Sciences MOU for Regional Education Development’ at Seoul National University to operate the Dongjak S-Class.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dongjak-gu Mayor Park Il-ha, the Dean of the College of Natural Sciences at Seoul National University, the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, and others.
Through this agreement, the district will reduce the educational financial burden on local youth while providing high-quality mentoring services free of charge by enabling coaching on study habits, college entrance exam preparation tips, and more from students of Seoul National University, a world-class university.
The district will invest budget to support venues for the program, and Seoul National University plans to recommend about 20 students for one-on-one customized and small group study and career counseling mentoring.
Classrooms will actively utilize idle spaces such as local community centers, Kiwoom Centers, and youth facilities.
Additionally, to diversify classes, the district plans to sign a business agreement with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Seoul National University next month.
After signing the agreement, the district will recruit interested students and begin full-scale operation based on topics related to their main interests.
Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “Through this MOU for operating the S-Class, we will provide practical help to students preparing for college entrance exams,” adding, “Going forward, the district office, companies, and universities will cooperate to lead new industries and nurture future talents, realizing Dongjak-gu as a mecca of education.”
