Joint Inspection with 22 Cities and Counties Until the 31st
Jeonnam Province announced on the 26th that from the 27th to the 31st, it will conduct intensive inspections of restaurants within multi-use facilities in cooperation with 22 cities and counties.
This inspection was initiated to proactively strengthen hygiene and safety.
A total of 347 locations, including restaurants and cafes operating in multi-use facilities frequently visited by people such as PC rooms, wedding halls, funeral halls, and hotels, are subject to inspection.
The main inspection items include ▲ hygienic handling of food ▲ compliance with standards for preservation and storage of ingredients ▲ sale or use of products past their consumption (distribution) expiration date ▲ reuse of food waste, among others.
Along with the inspection, samples of cooked foods such as coffee and beverages, which are widely consumed by the public, will be collected to test for contamination by food poisoning bacteria.
Additionally, with the hot and humid summer season approaching, there is concern about an increase in food poisoning cases, so guidance and promotion of the six major food poisoning prevention rules will also be carried out.
The six major rules are washing hands, eating cooked food, boiling food before eating, cleaning and disinfecting, using separate knives and cutting boards for raw and cooked foods, and maintaining proper storage temperatures.
Lee Sang-sim, Director of the Health and Welfare Bureau of Jeonnam Province, said, “We will conduct pre-inspections of restaurants within facilities frequently used by residents to create a hygienic dining environment where people can feel safe.”
