Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the 6th Pureun Only Market, the Pureungil Sijak Village Festival in Gyelim-dong, organized as part of the Pureungil Sijak Village Saetteul Project, starting at 2 p.m. on the 15th of next month.
This event features the opening of a new village goods pop-up store and various programs to enjoy at Pureungil Park, such as 'Only Land,' and 'Gachi ON Market,' where village residents and young entrepreneurs from Gwangju showcase experiences and food.
Additionally, there will be performances of the 'Pureun RE Concert·Busking' by young artists and teenagers from Gwangju to revitalize the village, as well as the 'Resident Proposal Contest Project Achievement Sharing Exhibition' of the Pureungil Sijak Village.
Moreover, various on-site events will be held, including SNS events with the village characters 'Pureu,' 'Ma-euli,' and 'Sijagi,' a treasure hunt stamp event called 'Find Pureu!,' and prize drawings. Im Taek, the head of Dong-gu, said, "I hope that the 6th Pureun Only Market this year will be an opportunity to introduce Pureungil Sijak Village to many citizens," and added, "We will spare no effort in providing various support and attention so that Pureungil Sijak Village can develop local content through village resources and secure competitiveness."
Meanwhile, the Pureungil Sijak Village Saetteul Project is a project aimed at sustainable village development, with a total budget of 4.75 billion won, scheduled to run until 2025. It is promoting support for repairing old houses, improving living conditions and residential environments in vulnerable areas within the project site, and expanding basic living infrastructure.
