Park is accused of running a red light around 9:20 p.m. the previous day on a road in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul. When the police ordered him to stop, he collided with a taxi in front of him and fled. The taxi then hit another passenger car due to the impact of the collision.

After causing the accident, Park got out of the vehicle and ran about 400 meters before being caught by the police.
